They're totally different. I would know since I compose alot dealing with choirs (soprano, alto, tenor, bass). With choir music, you don't even need lyrics per say. Alot doing skatting (which is different from jazz since you only have voice and another person that usually does voice drumset or string bass). Gospel's main thing is lyrics...God...you know...don't wanna forget that dude.
