philadelphia killing mach is Offline Senior Member Posts: 1,366 Join Date: May 2004 Location: I hate HippiesLand	04-29-2005, 12:39 PM i forget which 1950s ford car it was but they were real big on back fins then and wanted a new look for the fins so (and i'm guessing an engineer wasn't consulted) instead of having the fins 'taper' off to the rear, they curved them outwards from the side panels. road tests of the car had reports of the back end of the vehicle lifting off the ground by a couple inches or so.
