SERIOUS POTTER FANATICS

Harry Potter nuts are gathering for the first academic conference focusing on the world of their teenage wizard hero.

For the price of £235(that's €341, $412 US, $506 CAD, $542 AUD, $603 NZD, 13,170 TWD), lovers of the JK Rowling books will enjoy Hogwarts-style banquets and play the game of Quidditch over the weekend. oOo:

Professors and academics will descend on Reading University for three days to discuss topics such as the social problems of the wizarding community.oOo:

There will also be a mock trial of potions master Severus Snape, who is played by Alan Rickman in the films. oOo:

But under-18s will not be allowed to take part in the conference, despite the children's book selling more than 200 million copies worldwide. oOo:

The event is being organised by the fan club Accio, but has not been backed by the author JK Rowling or her publishers Bloomsbury.

Serena Culfeather, spokeswoman for Accio, said the conference would not infringe any copyright.

She added: "The appeal of the Harry Potter books is so wide-ranging that we felt a conference exploring the text was long overdue."

The conference has been billed as the first on British soil to focus solely on the Potter books.[/quote:652ce]

I like HP but this is just too oOo: for me. I'd only go to an event like this if Emma Watson was going to do a pole dance or something like that.[/quote:652ce]

i do belive that Quidditch is played with flying brooms.those potter fans are sure clever
