[quote="Chronic Diarrhea":52d96]I've been able to stop it though by swaitching to the CB on the left side of the field (left side from the camera's view) and shifting over to the right a little bit. When the passing screen comes up I hold R1 to strafe and I let the WR get a little bit of open space. Then I hit sprint and start running towards him again so I can gain ground before the pass is made. 80% of the time the CPU will see the huge space I've created and think, "OMGWTFBBQ OPEN MAN!!!!111" and lob up a pass. If it is a lob, I tip it, because it's almost impossible to have a player who jumps high enough to intercept it. If it is a medium pass or a bullet, I go for the pick. I'm playing with Florida State (imported my RFTH guy to coaching) so I have the 3rd best corner in the game, so this may not work for every team.[/quote:52d96]

I stop the deep passes similarly. It works better in Madden series since the players are slower, but it still sometimes works here. When I know the pass is going to be deep, I just continue using the D-Linemen for pressure onthe QB. Then once he throws it, I quickly switch the CB (sometimes, when the players are off the screen, i screw up since I don't know where my player is... I wished they had fixed this by having a larger view of the field). Once I'm with the CB, I just allow the WR some room so he gets in front of me (because the only way to bat down a pass is to do it from behind). Then, right when before the ball shows on the screen, I make sure i'm directly behind teh WR at all times. Then once it lands in our area, I press either teh intercept or the swat button (mostly intercept because it's easier to reach on PS2). Unless my CB doesn't jump high enough (which happens alot in this game), the pass would usually be deflected (mostly towards the receiver as I'm beginning to notice mad: ).

And rdeyes, I'm using Oregon State. When they use to have Ken Simonton and Steven Jackson, I use to be unstoppable. But they have changed their gameplan since then to a more passing oriented system, because they haven't found a successor to either RB. Their LB's, special teams, receivers are good, but everything else isn't that great.
