It's all about angles, lies, and props. There are a few amazing tricks that you can do that don't require set up or anything. These guys on TV that do magic really aren't doing amazing tricks really. Anyone can do it. They are just good at making a performance out of it (but then again, 75% of magic is how you sell yourself to the audience).

ALot of times when I figure out a trick or buy one, I get really pissed off at magic in general. It's just annoying how simple most things are. Once I took the time to learn the basic moves through books and internet websites, I had an easier time figuring out different magic effects and illusions.

It's kinda like algebra. You can't do algebra without knowing your times tables. But once you have that down, it is real easy.
