gaming with an lcd -
08-21-2005, 06:03 PM
i finally got my lcd monitor, its a lg flatron http://content.pricematrix.ru/images/L1730P-c.jpg
i love it but im a bit disappointed with it in terms of gaming. it has a 12ms response time, but for an extra $50 i could have gotten a samsung with a 8ms response time. would the 4ms gap make that much of a visual difference?

because theres a possibility this problem will always occur even with the fastest response time. if its going to make a minimal difference by switching, then its not worth my $50

Most response time ratings are bullshit.
That Samsung actually runs closer to 12ms.
Anything under 16ms will be 'ghost-free' to most peoples' eyes.
What in particular are you disappointed in?

I've been using a Samsung SyncMaster 150MP for about 4 years and it works great as far as I'm conserened. I also love the picture in picture feature. Porn squared.

Performed better.. looked better..etc etc etc..MUch cheaper...My Dell/Sony Trinitron has given me years of great service and has the exact same feature jibber was talking about (i have presets for it aka "video", "gaming/graphic", "standard", low Intensity(reading)... etc.

Dell 2005FPW 20" Widescreen
Amazing monitor. Me and Himmler (I think) have them.
If you're patient you can pick one up on sale for under $400.
