Planet MoH received word from EA's Steve Groll that the name for the Medal of Honor Allied Assault Expansion Pack will be *drumroll please*: Medal Of Honor: Allied Assault: Spearhead!. It sure is better than Reload, that's for sure. What do you think?
Thanks Matt!
Scratch off that "M" rating
After we reported that story about the expansion pack getting an "M" rating, I e-mailed EA's Lincoln Hershberger and he assured me that was a mistake on EA's site. The game still hasn't been submitted to the ESRB but you can bet the farm that it will get a "Teen" rating once it comes out. *puts shotgun away*
No go @ ECTS 2002
Lincoln Hershberger also comfirmed with me that the expansion pack will NOT be on the show floor for ECTS 2002. I was looking forward to that event hoping to get lots of new info about the expansion. BUT, Mr.Hershberger told me that in the near future, EA will present their Fall line-up to the press. So, very soon, some of the bigger online gaming websites will report loads of new info about the expansion pack. Hope G-Spot doesn't lock any possible movies right off the bat...
About the name: I think they might have gotten it from the nickname of the 3rd Armored Division, which was Spearhead. They served in The Battle of the Bulge, which the expansion pack reportedly will be centered around.
i read somewhere that it was gonna be called Reload, but i also read somewhere that its going to be called spearhead, well atleast i am able to confirm my self thanks to Von.

Though I might be wrong... eek:[/quote:62bb1]
Well it turns out I'm probably countless miles off the mark. I did a Google search for "world war II" + "spearhead" and got over 9000 hits - apparently it's just a military term used to describe the frontline of an invading/attacking force, commonly in regard to the allied invasion of Germany during WW2.
(The metaphor also strikes me as having certain Freudian overtones, but let's not go into that here... ed: )
Dear god, all I hope is this game dosen't turn into Rainbox Six. (Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear: Eagle Watch: Covert Ops) ed: That's an exaggeration of coarse, but it's close enough, heh
