Just tried the demo unit in town today, played cod 2, king kong and kameo. Cod 2 runs well enough, looks about the same as the pc version, had no antialiasing applied though so it looked very rough around the edges.
Full game has the fsaa, demo has it missing for some reason.
Kameo just seems pretty weird, couldn't really get into the dmoe of it at all. King kong looked a bit btter than the pc version, only problem was i couldn't figure out how to access my tommygun and ended up watching one of my guys get chomped by the t-rex.
Controller has a nice feel to it, i never realised the top of the controller has 2 buttons kinda like r1 and l1 on the ps2 controller, i just expected there to be 2 triggers like the original pad but you have the triggers and 2 additional shoulder buttons.
Didn't really notice any force feedback on the controller, might be disabled on the demo units though.

It has MORE buttons? eek:
I think that's half the reason why I don't like console games. Too many fucking buttons to manage.
Gimme UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, A, B, X, Y. I can handle that.
L1, R1, L2, R2, Analog sticks can go suck a fat chode.

I think the 2 shoulder butons might be the replacements for the white and black button on the original xbox. Never really paid much attention to the controller to be honest. biggrin:

we got the 360pod thing in the games shop i work in yesterday, cod2 pretty average and not showing potential of the hardware, then after we shut we put codemned on, and damn its fucking hot looking, lighting/graphics/w/e better than doom/half life/fear and its one freaky game. was pretty awesome on the hd samsung screen its on, fucking eh.
woo tomorrow we get in perfect dark zero, amped 3, quake 4, etc etc to play after work
i didnt want a 360 too much before, now i do cry:

When i was playing cod 2 demo i heard a couple of guys behind me oohing and aahing about how great everything looked in it, up close to me it looked ok but the jaggies really made it look bad. When i went to where they were standing when some other guy was playing it looked really good though, probably the same lcd\360 pod setup thats in statecs place, has some weird little reset buton on the front so you can reboot the console and pick a demo or a video to watch.
One thing i noticed was theres no aniso filtering in any of the games, so bacially textures lose their detail and get really blurry a few feet ahead of you in any of the games, pretty noticable in pgr3. So instead of looking like the pic on the right, it looks more like the pic on the left here:

Don't really know why they didn't include it, pc games the performance hit is tiny nowadays, and with the 360 having a totally new gpu powering it the hit would have been nonexistant.

Is it really worth it, or should i just be patient and wait till PS3 is released?

if u like xbox and want all the sequels to games on xbox then get the 360. but the smart thing would be to wait, and see what sony comes out with before making a decision.

what do you think sony is going todo then fool, gt5235235, metal gear solid 4234234, killzone 34143252 blah blah blah.
Id wait until the ps3 comes out to laugh and then buy an extremely cheaper xbox360 with a huge array of decent games and with a copy of halo 3 which will most probaly be released when the ps3 will be.

I stopped by Future Shop yesterday to get a movie and got my hands on a 360... Played COD 2 for a few minutes, which I thought was awesome... I wasn't really interested when I just heard/read about the game but now I am. Tried King Kong too, it was pretty interesting.
Man I wasn't really that interested in the Xbox 360.. but after getting my hands on it I'm thinking about getting one really soon. Then again though, there's been a lot of shit about glitches or stuff so I might wait a while. Still, I'll probably wait until April or so to get one along with Halo 3 and Oblivion.
