Think the R580 will be the X800XTPEs record and launch at $1000?

If the R580 is significantly faster than the 512GTX and not just a X1800XTPE, then nvidia will release a 7800 Ultra...

I'm excited for next gen when we start seeing the some new stuff. I'm bored with the 7 and X1 series...
Nv already have an ultra out, even though for some reaosn theyre saying its not. biggrin:

r580 there are working boards floating about with some ati partners, obviously clocks aren't even close to final but they are meant to be out there. Smartest thing ati could do would be to set the release for this a couple of months after they have everything nailed down then stockpile cores for a while, same as nvidia did with the gtx to get release day availability.

Its a really tricky time for upgrading, sorta inbetween releases of new cards and new motherboards and cpu's (socket m2). cuss:
