Most of the people I know who have iPods have had trouble with it losing it's ability to keep a charge. My brother's for instance, needs constant recharging to hold any charge. I would look for some alternative options to the iPod, unless you are aiming for the video one, because there aren't many good alternatives for the vid ipod.

All lithium ion batteries have that problem.

wtf, how often are you gonna watch a video on a 2inch by 2inch screen? When I have a music player, I usually use it when I'm listening to music in the car (can't watch videos then), when I am studying away from my PC (no point to watching videos then), when I'm walking to class (can't watch videos then), when I want to fall asleep (no point to watching videos then).

Unless you use public transportation alot and just sit there while you travel, I don't see a huge use in the video feature. It's a stupid gimmick if you ask me.

Arkan even said he had a protable DVD player. There ya go, there's the video.

iPod is smaller than a portable DVD player.

So why is that not a big problem? A year- 2years is not a very long time, I would certainly want it to last longer than that if I paid all that money for it.

And Akuma, I bought a Dell DJ at the same time my brother bought his iPod and his has terrible battery life compared to mine.

We'll I've had my iPod for 3 years and it still keeps a good 10 hours of battery life compared to 12 when I first bought it.

considering im on my 2nd ipod for free in the last 3 years, that doesnt seem like a big problem. if it was every month that it would die, then yeah that would be a problem. but after 2 years its not a big problem at all imo. lots of shit doesnt even last 2 years. take a look at hard drives, lots of them fail within months. other computer hardware somtimes doesnt even last 2 years. and with the ipod you can get a replacement for as little as $75. and whatever type of ipod they have then too

i just don't see why you would want to buy a product that would always tend to break...even if you do get a new ipod. It would be such a hassel to send it in al the time for a replacement product.
