Lady hits my baby..I almost die..BEST DAY EVER !! -
12-22-2005, 11:16 PM
Well.. today started pretty fine and dandy.. I wake up @ 11am, drive down to the auto wreckers to pick up a sunfire gauge cluster for my z24. This is where it all starts out....The guys helping me out @ the yard were complete assholes.. They made me wait nearly 2 hours for my part, and when I get it.. they give me the wrong year...I take it, and leave.. even though the rpm's redline is way to high on my new cluster....I go to my freinds shop.. and we both install the new cluster, it works great and looks much better then the old cavalier one. (amber instead of horrid teal). I drive home, play a game of R:TW, have a couple great victorys then go to work....
This is where it gets intresting. As I am coming down a very very snowy road, doing about 10-15km/h This lady in a Corrolla Type S' is sort of blazing it doing 50km/h....... a massive gust of wind comes (as she says) and she starts driving in my lane/drifts over !!!... So I almost instinctively hit my ebrake, and steer to the snow bank to avoid what would have been a lethal head on collision... YET this lady is still sliding across the road...almost like the car was moonwalking sideways... and her steel rim hits my side.. and hard... Then she nails the brakes.... and tacks my rear qauter panal !!!. I pull over and inspect the damage.... MY front qaurter panal is completely fucked, my door is smushed in on the corner, and the bottum hinge is snapped completely... While a massive paint scrape goes all the way across my z24...... + my side skirt was ripped in 2 and my mirrow is completely fucked. Then I saw the rear qaurter panal.. and it also had a massive ding in it. mad: I get out, and run to her now ditched car.. and say "The road just wasn't wide enough eh ?" She completely appologizes and tell the officer who reported it that it was her fault..... The only problem on her car was what seemed to be a snapped tie rod.. or her front axle was snapped some where becasue the car would only turn right. NO body damage to her car at all.. WTF !!! ed: mad: . So now here is my problem....I do not have collision, and if this lady goes psycho bitch on me I will have to drag her to court for the cash....(even though the police report says it is her fault......
BY my rough estimates, a body shop is going to charge around 2000 $ large..... to put on a new door, /front fender/rework the qaurter panal, and repaint...+ labour....... ed: .
I will make sure that this lady pays every god danm penny. NOT only is this going to cost me in the short run, but my insurance is now going to skyrocket due to Ontario's "no fault" insurance laws...... When there is a foot of snow on the road.. PLEASE people.. do a decent speed.
I will post pics tommrow when I can take pictures in the morning.. My camera sucks @ night..

get it fixed and send her the bill. keep a copy of it and if she refuses to pay, take her to court. try to put the repairs on a credit card.

accidents happen, deal with it. It seems like you love your car more than women so why didnt you insure it?

if its not your fault your insurence should not go up. And just curious but where did the snow come from? did it drift in? we didn't get any snow yesterday.

A few things. 1st of all, you could've left out the gauge story, totally irrelevant to the story. 2nd, i'm thinking that there could be a slight chance her tie rod broke before the accident causing her to veer to the left into you. 3rd, you should be completely covered under her insurance due to her incriminating herself on the police report. Call your insurance company now (if you didn't do so already) and tell them you were involved in an accident. Get your adjusters # and fax him a copy of the police report. And don't say anything related to the accident like (i saw her coming and i tried to avoid her). Just say you were going straight and all of a sudden her car struck yours. These bastards have a way of finding you at least part fault.
Keep us up to date on the situation.
Oh and another thing, if you feel any bit sore, go to the hospital. If you have to seek any medical attention because something as mi-nute as your pinky hurting you, contact an attorney. Good luck.

I have insurance, just no collision, but it will be covered I just found out under the ladies insurance ect... My car is not a write off.. since the damage in under the wholesale value of my car which is 8500$. I am hoping to get the body shop estimate today.

It snowed a good 4 to 6 inches here + a ton of drift from the nearby field...(Orangeville.)

I just got off the phone, I am completely good now, she has to pay for this. I have no injuries, not even a sore pinky.. such a shame as well since my aunt is a civil litigator.....I only threw in the gauges because they look so much better then the old ones lol. + it only tied into the whole badness of the day thing. happy:
