When my grandmother goes to the Middle East on occasion, people ask her where she's from. She says America and they get a weird look on their face, but then she'll start talking arabic to them and the natives' faces light up. My grandmother danced in the street while my grandfather played the dilbecca (arabic drum). Them and the townspeople had a blast together, and they offered my grandparents free stuff (including some gold jewelry).
Yeah but we aren't americans at all, my grandmother and step-grandpa were speaking in Lithuanian to each other..probably they figured they were some tourists from france or something.
i think thats a bit extreme for a child to endure getting his arm broken via a car running over it. but thats just my opinion. i'm not gonna bad mouth the way things are handled in other cultures or their traditions
