-misfunctioning server browser.
-HORRENDOUS loading times
-multiple bugs
-not enough patchs
-clunky aiming pyshics
-unbalenced gameplay
-once the cliche of vehicles wears off....
-horrible infantry to infantry combat....
-to many bugs, and exploits..........

I feel it is the Halo of PC. Overated by the legions of bafoons who game. Games of Tactical brilliance like Rome:Total war, Age Of Mythology all get left in the dirt to peices of crap. |

 - the server browser is bad, agreed- the loading times aren't that bad if you have a good system
 - there are sum bugs, yes, but I play about an hour a day and they don't affect me that often
 - not enough patches?
 - the aiming works fine, it's probably just different than what you're used to
 - how isthe gameplay unbalanced?
 - vehicles do wear off, so play a smaller city map where there is more infantry
 - false, infantry to infantry is not that bad, it's not as close combat as MOHAA or COD, but it's pretty good.
 - you already said about bugs, exploits, I don't see very often either, most servers are run well.

How long have you actually played the game?

I have wasted to many hours trying to like that hunk of shit.
I have a AMD 3200+ / 1GB3200DDR, every other game I have loads in 16th the time, including Doom 3. I can run the game on higher settings.

im assuming there will be a demo. as long as there is balance and the vehicles arent complicated to control (bf2 vehicles are perfect IMHO) then it should be a fun game....chances are grey matter will nail the new quakewars game and 2142 wont have as many players....or not...
-shorthand...the bf2 game has so many underlying features and gameplay dynamics that you would find it hard to get bored. i think if you have been gaming long enough bugs and gameplay issues will always be there...hopefully in small amounts. ive been lucky enough to experience minimum gameplay issues with "the server has disconneted" being the big one if i were to raise some cane with EA/Dice. unless you only like playing one class/doing one thing...the game offers alot in terms of content. i was bored out of my mind after about 3-4 months of playing...left the game for 2 months or so and came back....started playing the various classes and used them in a more situational/team play based scenario...ie weve capped a flag with their assets..i switch to spec ops and blow their shit up...defend..then move on...

current objective is to get 10 repir points in a round...ive only been able to get 6 so far...its fucking hard and challenging not to mention you need a bit of luck eek:

 | same here man, I left for a while, came back with a whole new enjoyment for the game. Also, I have been trying to get 10 repair points in a round. You're right, it's almost impossible. I have almost all the other Vet Infantry badges, but I can't seem to get that one. I think the best bet is to go to a big map, like one of the new tank maps that came out with EF or a map like Dragon Valley or Songhua Stalemate where people use vehicles a lot. If I find a server like that, I check to see how many engineers there are, if there are a lot, I play a different class, but if there aren't I try for the badge. Hopefully I'll be able to get it this weekend when I'm not so busy. |

Any online FPS is only as good as the teams you manage to join - BF2 included. On its own, it is really a fun game, large maps, varied kits (no. . .really) and interesting combat. But essentially, the game is good or bad depending on how critical it makes squad combat. And, BF2 does this well.
Youre honestly trying to compare an online FPS to RTS games. What the fuck? May as well say BF2 doesnt have the strategy of a game like TEKKEN 5 or fucking JAX & DAXTER - two different genres which have fuck all to do with each other.

However - BF:2142. . .meh. If its just reskins, then I'm not about to spend money on it. If it introduces new gameplay tactics, then that might be something worth looking at. Id like to see some changes made to Bf2 that further reduce the ability for someone to lone gunman this game. As it is, even with one person, capping a flag is at BEST a 15 second affair. . .maybe 20.
