Germans were using jet planes before any other country, most militarys didn't see them as much use because the engines where bulky untill after they seen that germany had a few good jet planes then other countries started to get them built. As for vietnam it was known as the war america couldn't win for good reason, they weren't used to fighting an advesary that used those style of tactics.
