so I notice this morning that blitz is shitting on every thread crying about stickies.

I agree we have too many, 7 to be exact, but he seriously needs to shut the fuck up about the photo thread, yea it could go into the art forum but whatever. Its a good thread even if its not super active, I mean people dont take wicked awesome shots every day so its understandable.

IMO if we were to get rid of any stickys my votes would be

1. computer help thread
Reason: we have a an entire forum dedicated to this, everyone bitches about it not being popular, well if that were THE spot for tech help, I think it would be.

2. Desktop Thread
Reason: what the hell is the point okay look this is what I dont see on my screen because 90% of the time I have a browser window or game up.

3. Gif thread
Reason: Its run its course, it had a flurry of activity at the start but its tapered off. let it drift.

Do I think the movie thread has some great reasons to be stickied, yea its just like the music thread but so what if its not stickied, the activity on it should keep it on the 1sr couple pages if it is popular enough to be stickied

also another suggestion, Maybe get rid of the buy sell trade forum, that thing is a dead piece of shit.

Hell maybe make a media forum in its place

something for PIctures, Art, Music, Movies, Videos ed: etc...

the photography thread is less active than all of the threads you mentioned. We already have an art forum (the sig one), so move photography in there. A media forum is a good idea, but then that divides up most of the activity going on here (and it's a pain to go between two forums oOo: ).

I would just move the photo thread, the desktop thread, the gif thread, and the computer thread to the art/sig forum (since that forum has no stickies) and the other stickies left (in addition to adding movies and/or ytmnd) to the Offtopic forum.

Blitz the photography thread is less active cause not everyone has a camera strapped to their face all day. Even if they do only the good pics will be posted and its not all the time that any good pics will show up. Weathers also a factor, whos gonna be out taking pics in the pissing rain or the freezing cold?

Even the pc thread isn't as active as you would think, if you look through it theres pretty sizable gaps between peoples posts.

Girly threads only active because its not exactly hard to visit airbrush and fake jugg central to get some pics.

Making another forum section has proven pointless time and time again, nobody goes to the other sections of the forums at all these days, you see the occasional post in the bf2 and sig forum but besides that nothing. Offtopic is where people congrigate so its obvious the photo thread should be in here so the pics owners can get some feedback.

Views Per Day: 94.2

These threads are nearly identical when looking at the figures. They're both valuable threads.

they are both valuable threads, i'm not debating that. But their value as a sticky is less in comparison to the movie thread. If we keep adding more stickies though, than the entire first page would be stickies. And most of the posts per day and views per day values are skewed because they are stickies.

I think stickies are meant for threads that have good content but don't have a lot of posts frequently. The photography thread is good as a sticky because posts aren't made every day on it, yet it has quality content. The gif thread, in my opinion, shouldn't be a sticky because people make posts in it at a higher frequency than the photography thread. If a post is made on it, it'll come back up to the top, saving it from moving to the backpages. Desktop thread...who cares. Scrap it.

In conclusion, if a thread is popular enough (post wise) then the thread should save itself from moving to other pages. A sticky is for protection for threads with good content so it doesn't get lost.
