Probably the right thing to do. Sadly, it's the kids who lose in this situation.

I don't really blame Spears - I blame the sycophants around her (and around these other stars) who enable this behavior. Whether it costs you your job or not, at some point you need to say "Ok, this isn't the best for you or for the future of you and your kids."

This is the life that happens, when you're not allowed to make mistakes. Sure the woman has made mistakes, but no one has called her out on it and forced her to face the consequences, so they really can't be classified as such.
