LOL Yankees Offered Joe Torre a 1 year deal and he said GTFO and didnt accept it.

good for him, he doesnt need to put up with that shit every year

And they dont need to put up with his old school baseball coaching anymore. He never bunts, steals or hit and runs. The days of the long ball are going out the window.

They gave him that deal so he would intentionally say no so they wouldn't have to rehire him. They knew he would refuse it.

hate to break it to you but those things you mentioned above ARE what old school guys do.

the newer systems take less chance on creating outs from steals, bunts (because the percentages are so low), and focus on creating runs by taking pitches leading to walks.
