Just beat the game and all i can say is... Meh. It looks pretty, but isnt all that entertaining to play. Once you figure out how dumb the Ai can be they are easy to defeat, and the aliens are just annoying. Last portion of the game was truly the most unsatisfying. Spoilers:

Once in the ship in 0g the game became very boring and was a chore to play just flying around tunnel after tunnel. Then attempting to kill off the few speedy aliens that popped up seemed an effort in futility. Until you realised they like to charge and you can grab them for an instant kill. Once outside you run and gun to avoid pursuing flying and things and proceed to do that until your safly back on the ship. Oh sure, you can do all those secondary objectives in the vtol, which is a pile of shit, not a fighter, thussly you end up repeating parts 205884 times. Once back on the ship you run through the maze to do useless objectives until the ship is hit with a large alien on deck. You grab a nuke launchers and hit the deck to kill the thing, but you cant USE the nuke on it. So you hit it with 53983 rockets and it dies. Then an even bigger alien pops up and sits there while you easily blow it up in stages. First those turrets, then the wing parts, for some reason, then the hanger bay door. End game.

Now the last part with the boss battle was horribly bugged for me and i ended up NOT having to do the sequence of events to kill it. It just said i did it after a reload from dying, and it was over, leaving me to say WTF is wrong with the fucking game. Not to mention that once on the final level the game hard locked my computer 6 times, at differant locations, and at seemingly random times. Working on killing something, lag, lag, lock, in the course of two seconds. Absolutly infuriating, at points i just gave up from not enjoying the game and didnt play for a day or so. Then forced myself through. Honestly, the story isnt that good, the gameplay can get boring, and the aliens ruin the game. Cloaked? Oh they still see you.

Overall, if you've got a high spec machine and can truly utilise this games graphics, sure go ahead and get it. It is a new standard in level design, and art. However, if you dont have a rig that can go to medium, with a few highs on the important stuff, its not really worth it just for the gameplay.

I finished on Saturday and pretty much feel the same way you did Misc. By the end of the thing I was indifferent. Story wasn't all that great. I didn't really care about what was going on.

Aliens are tedious. Game looks amazing. Story line is what matters to me the most. COD4 did a great job with their story. Crysis is kind of a novelty.
