Default Don't ya just love being lied to by online stores - 10-15-2002, 12:12 PM

Ordered a cdrw drive, some cdr's and 512mb of ddr memory on monday. It shoulda arrived today but didn't. I ring the company and they said the reason it wasn't shipped was the memory was out of stock but they had got it back in stock today and it would be sent today.

They send a confirmation email when your stuffs being sent out at around 5pm anytime you order and suprise suprise i havn't received the email yet so that means ive to wait longer for it,

Cunts cry:

I just had a nice little back and forth with an online vendor. They screwed up and it took me 2 weeks to get them to even respond. Actually, the returns area never responded. I finally had enough and sent a nasty email to every address listed on their web page. I got a very quick response after that. Happily, they are making things right. Luckily it was only a cdrw, and not something critical ( I have back ups). If new egg had carried what I wanted, I most likely wouldnt have had this problem. They just cant be beat.

I am getting the 48X12X48 liteon. For slightly less $ than you paid and they are dropping everyday. The 48x is kind of overkill since there isnt any media that fast yet, but WTH, it isnt that much more expensive and maybe someday.

Dude I hate being lied to in online stores. Didja all know that some places are actually claiming to sell Perfect Dark 2?! What the hell, it hasn't even been made yet.

yeah i had this with a store..... online qty says theyre in stock but not only werent they there they even took 3 days before they ordered more stock to fill my order.

bitch on the phone told me she would hang up on me if i didnt stop swearing at her. got her to put me through to her boss..... explained the size of the fine for corporations breaching the (AUS) Trade Practices Act for bait advertising...... i think the exact conversation was...
"you wanna talk about grammer & you in court or just refund my fucking order idiot?"

Too bad by that "someday" DVD-R/RW will be affordable, and CD-RW will be the floppy-drives of the transferable media world.

And online ordering is ass. I should know. Ive screwed my share of ebayers.

Heh.

The GF2 ultra looks pretty affordable now. You want in on it now?

Until software comes standard on DVDs, it wont be necessary. Dont get me wrong, I want one, but dont need one by any means. CDRoms are throw away at this point they are so cheap, but floppys still come on every new pc. I can still get 32X burning out of the current media, and the 48X burner was only a few dollars more. Like I said, WTH, why not?

They say that sometime next year major computer manufacters are not going to include a floppy drive. Since most computers can now boot from a CD and the fact that 1.44 megs of storage isnt jack shit anymore. There oks some times. like taking a report to school to print it, but for other things there useless.

My power point presentation for my senior econ class was over 50 megs. Simply impractical to to fit on a floppy and most schools dont have ZIP 100 drives. So it seems either your storage medium is to small, or vaslty to large.

Not really, burn the file to cd and reset the the bios to boot from cd, not floppy, at least long enough to flash the bios. CDs and cd drives are dirt cheap, but then so are floppy drives - about $10, maybe $15 delivered to your door. No need to buy the high dollar floppy, I only need one to work maybe a half dozen times over its life.
