I'm not going to sit here and argue with under-educated teenagers who want to come off sounding like intellectuals.

I've had three years of social and political sciences, and two of those years were with professors from Europe (Britain and France). So don't come off with your pretentious act like I'm clueless.

Hell, you know what. The United States should just start acting like everyone makes them out to be. I figure we could take over western Europe within a year. We could have the American Empire. It'll be great. Why the hell not, everyone thinks of us that way anyway.

Oh, and about the H-Bombs, you ignorant, uneducated prick. We had the choice between hundreds of thousands of American soldiers, or the people of the enemy. When it comes down to it, better them than us. We warned them to surrender. Their fault.

[quote="Captain Noctis Aeternus":860e5]Oh you mean, sick of people who speak up because they are tired of being spat upon because they were born in the United States?

Or maybe people who are just a little tired of all these people thinking they are high and mighty because they aren't American?

Canadians and Europeans thinking that I'm somehow I'm less of a person or less intelligent because I choose to support my country's actions, even when maybe I don't agree with them entirely?

Or have we all chosen to simply forget the fact that societies are built upon disagreements, compromises, and in the end, support of one another?

Europe is engulfed in liberalism. Communism with a more pleasant terminology. This isn't a perfect world. Wake up.

And I think anyone should be able to voice an opinion, but in a respectful manner. Seems like most of the posts are "Bush is retarded and Americans are sheep." So yeah, I get peeved, and I have every right to do so. Anyone wants a civil argument, I'm up for that as well.

But I tell you this much. I can't wait for the next European war. It should be great fun to sit in front of TV and watch the fireworks while the French beg for our help.[/quote:860e5]

where did i say "bush is a retarded and americans are sheep"?

where did i say i was all high and mighty?
you are right now grasping at straws........
since i presented a lot of facs as to why the rest of the world doesn't like the US Govorment (note.......GOVORMENT, not citizens) you should be taking this as a small mind-twist and try to look at the whole thing from another perspective.
why do I think you are being pumped full of propagande?
well because i have family in Chicago and they call down here and expect us to agree with them totally. i have two cousins in the united stats (one just turned 18 and the other is 20) and their mother would send them in a heartbeat away to war in Iraq. If something would happen to those two boys there no-one in our family would balme THE EVIL ARABS for their deaths, we would blame aunty for sending them away for a stupid cause and therefor taking away their lives.

whenever i see "god bless america" i think of "jihad" the same crap terroists think they are fighting for. a terrorist is so pumped with religious crap that he/she actually thinks he/she is doing it for their country and god.
please.......leave god out of this. God is most likely ashamed of all of us for actling like 5 year-olds fighting over a toy.

it seems as if those three years weren't enough. you're the one acting like a teenager who's having a tantrum about not coming of as an individual but as a simple drone.

and if you don't want to argue.....that's fine, you have said yours now let me say mine.

but adding the part about taking over europe felt like a slight provocation, all i can say nice try turning this argument into fabricated crap.

I am sorry that my country has left such a bad taste in your mouth. But national pride can get pretty ugly.

The ones i feel sorry for are all the victims of war/terrorism and how people can take advantage of it so easily and make it to something it's not.
After september 11th all the american flags were bought out.....for me this was just ridiculus. i was just sitting there and thinking that those stinking fat rich bastards made money of off someone elses misery.
they made money from selling flags.........i just hope at least some of that money went to the victimes families.

how is a flag going to make someone more american or swedish or whatever?
i would rather give 100 dollars (or more)to a fund for the victimes families then buy a flag, that would make me feel more american then buying a silly flag.
i just think it's really sad.......

Actually companies that sold the Ameircan Flags after 9/11 did just that and gave part or all of profits to the victims families.

They were Atomic Bombs. Nuclear Bombs would've done alot more damage.

and there were Military Targets in the cities, so don't make the distiction that they were civilian only cities and there were 560,000 casulities(combined from both cities) from the Atomic Bombs, infact there was a allied conventional bombing that killed more in Germany (just one city from one attack)

The Japanese were not going to surrender without a full land invasion (resulting in more civilian deaths as well as more deaths to Allied and Japanese Soldiers) or with the Atomic Bombs to hopefully persuade them into surrendering. What would you do if you were in our position.

it is true, The US has done those things, but a lot of the overthrowing of leaders and attacking people was a choice of who's bad and who's worse.

yes, we overthrew an elected official, but saddam was "elected" also. We have also installed dictators, but they were better than the alternative. This was evident in Iran. Carter threw out the dictator there and installed a Prime Minister, thinking it would be more democratic, but in fact, the new leader spurred Iran to capture all those hostages for something like 455 days.

Also, in many of these countries, terrible, terrible things were happening, like in Somalia where the people were starving. WE needed to get the clans and warlords out of there to help the people of Somalia. Similar things happened in many of the other conflicts you listed.

Another thing to blame is our containment policy regarding communism. We have had some major conflicts caused only by communism and trying to stop it's spread, maybe if we just let the communists live their own way, they would just fall apart on their own, without us having to intervene.

You have to remember that with politics of foreign policy, many choices are between who's bad and who's worse.

yeah, i actually went out and purchased a bunch of flags so the manufacturer could profit off of 9/11.

its called PATRIOTISM! your views of the average American citizen are very wrong. stating that we are a brainwashed society becuase some of your family are for the war only proves that point.

(btw, wtf is your family here for if our government is so negatively involved in foreign affairs?)

and for this quote of yours i ask you what your solution would be. maybe sit down and pleasure him with tea and crumpets and tell him what an outstanding job he has done by killing so many innocent people? and that the terrible U.S. should stand by and let poor mr. huessain go about his daily routine by starving his peoples to death while he lounges in one of his 6 estates by the airconditioner.

whenever i hear of sweden (which is never) i think of attractive blondes and pussies that have real terrible view of the U.S. and its foriegn policies.
go spew your meaningless facts on the CNN forums if you feel the need. think of jihad, haha, what a joke.

Make me laugh, you do! The combined total of deaths of the two bombings combined we around 350,000. Now it was either that or invade mainland Japan, which would cause upwards of 100,000 allied deaths and over 250,000 Japanese deaths, military and civil. Also, Truman knew that if an invasion started, the 100,000 allied POW's being held captive in Japan would be SLAUGHTERED by the Japanese. Now:

350,000 < over 400,000

You decide.

the bombs that were droped were wrong but you do have to look at the alternitive to it we have resently found out that japan had a secrit air forse of jets and bomber that are almost equal to todays jet power and that they had all new wepons like primitve sidewinder missles and it is thught by the Us war experts that if it had been a land invasion that first wave of ships would all have been sunck befor they ever got there

If you say "Bowling for Colimbine" is your only resource then that in itself shows me how much of a knuckle head you are. Your "facts" are scewed and slanted. If you word anything the way you want it you can come up with "facts" to prove water flows uphill
