Most people tend to like metal/rock here so maybe I can be of some use when it comes to alternatives...
Maybe try:
Cex, fourtet, brothomstates, boom bip, plaid, solvent, ulrich schnauss, xela, junior boys, boy robot, swayzak, buck 65, !!!, silicon scally, martina topley bird, tricky, dopplereffekt, the other people place, blue states, andrea parker.......

ive played tricky and solvent out ... ill give the rest of those a try tho.
ive gotten to where i can stand most new electronic music ... either way too abstract or trip hop for my taste.
i like all music. currently my tastes have been more garage rock type rock and 80s synth pop type.
on my ipod now ( which i have to scroll thru for a good couple of minutes before i can find anything i wanna hear ) :
qotsa pixies frank black eagles of death metal foo fighters mudhoney vines 80s synth type indie rock with a few rap rnb tracks.
i also thru some of the better tracks from the "get rich or die trying" soundtrack. i actually wouldnt mind some rap as long as its not poppie, but if it is poppy is must be funky.
last month is was mostly the smiths , morrissey , depeche mode, the cure with 80s tracks and a few rap tracks mixed in.
