Default I smell college football! - 07-13-2006, 10:44 PM

With the beginning of College Football being just a over a month away I have been getting very excited. It is definetly one of my favorite sports to watch with all of its pagentries and rivalries. This year is also special to me because it is my first year of college at WVU. I plan on attending atleast every home game while trying to catch a few away games. Especially the Pitt game and maybe the Louisville game. I joined the Mountaineer Maniacs so I am guaranteed football tickets for this year which is awesome.

I have high expectations for WVU because of their outstanding young talent and their hopefully high BCS rating. WVU needs a high ranking because of their poor strength of schedule. Even if they go undefeated there is still a chance they won't make it to the national championship. The have great team supported by their sophomore standouts:

Pat White may be the most agile person I have ever seen in a football player. He is not only fast but he can change direction on a dime.

Steve Slaton is a very fast RB who is also strong. He has gained some weight over the offseason but it is reported that he hasn't lost a step.

Owen Schmitt is a hard working fullback who can not only block but also pound the ball right up the middle.

Who can forget Eric Wicks, a hard working Spur Safety(which is combination safety/linebacker in the 3-3-5)who is quick and can hit hard.

I really just hope WVU can keep the fire going and atleast go undefeated. Louisville is the team that scares me but as long as they keep on the right track they will come out with a win. Brian Brohm is a great quaterback for Louisville and he needs to be contained.

Post about your favorite team and how they shall fair this season.

P. S.(Pyro if you don't like college football STFU.)
