An mg 42 fires so fast you cant tell one fire from another, it sounds like a buzz saw or something

That's why they have a quick change barrel (this should REALLY be modeled in the game), to prevent barrels over-heating, and it's fired in burst to conserve ammunition. Though multi-player mught be a bit different, with players firing until there belts are empty, or their barrel melts .
