Get a wallpaper mural for one wall and paint the rest of the room a color to match. There is a badass mural of the NY skyline at day or at night that you could hook up. Those things are freaking awesome.

Since it's your bedroom, you don't want to go with anything too bright. Try some greenish-grey or darkish blue. Easy for sleepin'.

A girl I knew in highschool painted her room pitch black and flecked the ceiling with phosphorescent paint...looked like a starry night sky in the dark. Very cool.

Anyways, i had the upper half of the wall painted in bordeaux and the lowe half painted ina very dark red.
On top of where the colors met, i glued a wallpaper edging..
Came out really nice..
