d00d what burning program you use? I make a data CD (mp3 cd) and the fucking thing gets an error in my head unit. But mine says it plays MP3s. and its brand new gg Alpine

My buddy has an Alpine and I don't recall him ever having a problem.
I don't know what he uses, but I use the newest version of Nero.

Yes Nero 6 and yes a data CD.
If you make an audio CD, it converts the MP3s to CDA format for burning.
Might want to get in touch with Alpine or read your manual and learn how to use folders.

I think perhaps we confused one another...
I made an assumption I shouldn't have...
Most of the problems with MP3 head units has to do with encoding beyond 30 or so songs. This can be circumvented by placing music in folders.
But if you are getting a straight up error on the first track.. Google rock:
