ninty, prednisone is prescribed for so many things because it's an antibiotic. Your dog probably had an infection so it got prednisone, the woman who has luekemia probably takes prednisone to keep her from getting an infection because she has a weak immune system. Antibiotics work for tons of different things.
BTW coma, I would try to ask your doc what he/she thinks you have, it might be nice to know.

yeah i know. but i mean that if they knew what it was they could better treat it instead of admistering prednisone. i'm pretty sure prednisone is a pretty harsh drug.
i've been to doctors that will just look and then prescribe some drug that may or may not work. i know their time is valuable and all, but if we were able to better recgonize what people had, there would be less of a need for antibiotics and thus we would see less resistance from new viruses and such. just my opinion. |
