Confederate flag banned at one southern school - Page 4

Well ive been in VA for 2 years now

Ok, time for my input. As for not flying the flag in a public school?, maybe thats not a bad idea.....flying it on a pole outside the school should be a no-no. But to ban a confederate flag shirt a kid might wear? ...bad idea. This country is based on freedom of speech, religion, yada, yada, yada, and to put a ban on that is teaching children the opposite of what this country is based.
Now, if you ask me for my 'personal opinion' about flags, i'll say this. Even though my opinion goes against what i just said, i think no flag, other than the American, MIA, & Military flags should be displayed in this country. To fly any other is disrespectful to all the service men & women who gave their lives fighting for this country!! (That goes for Confederate, Puerto Rico, Italian, African, Nazi..blah, blah that you find on someones rearview mirror.) But again, this is how i feel, not how it is done.

.....i'm not even gonna touch the white/black issue !!

Well, we have a professor here at K-state from England and he flies the British Naval Ensign above his house, his father served on a H.M. Cruiser during WWII, so I think he has a damn good reason (honoring his ancestors)

Spooge - it would seem that way on the surface, but not really. A liberal would have no problem letting someone burn the american flag, but if it involves a minority, then you lose all your rights. And hell, this is the US, if Bush dont need a dictionary, then I dont either.

I expected that if you had an opinion, you would at least have a logical opinion based on reality, which is what I ment; how will your opinion work in reality, and you have clearly explained that it does not, so thank you. Your opinion does not work in practical use.
