Where the hell did this thread come from? Jujumantb, if you like Norway so much, just go move there. Communism wont work because humans are inherintly greedy. We live in a capitalist society because it is a system that works. If you make the risk to make something great, you reap the rewards and share it with whomever you want. This whole shit about taxes paying someones education for however long they want to go to school is total bullshit. People struggle because of the life they have. It is up to you to make it better and you cant rely on others for help. SS and welfare are there for an emergency. They are are there to help you get back on your feet and move on, not to stay there and live off of it. There are inequalities and discriminant factors when it comes to making your riches, but there are hundreds of examples of how people overcome them. That is why the system we have (capitalism) is so great.

[quote="Garry Coleman":185f4]i think you are naive in saying that you don't care about politics. I think everyone should have an understanding about them because it will ultimately affect their lives dramatically. It's alright hating to hear politics 24/7. Maybe you do know about politics and just don't care to discuss them (you didn't specify...sorry if i'm wrong).[/quote:185f4]

i can see where you're coming from, but its just come to the point where politics is sickening. Its everywhere, on the news, in school, EVERYWHERE!

maybe its because of my beliefs, im kinda like a transcendentalist, but not too extreme. i like simple life, art, music, and just fun. I dont see the fun or interest in debating issues or economic issues, but thats just me.

to each his own =/

Where were you educated at? I'll write my congressman about that place oOo:
Who is talking about communism? You are stupid, really cant put it another way. If you took time to read the thread, I said I was using Norway as an example because it has perfected the system I was trying to explain. I would love to live there, but current circumastances make that impossible. Open your eyes a bit. You are a classic example of every politically ignorant person out there. Do some research on your own, whome ever has taught you about this stuff in the past must have had some great bias you missed.

EDIT: Political Science and History department at the California State University at Long Beach.Who is talking about communism?
Im talking about communism.

You are stupid, really cant put it another way. If you took time to read the thread, I said I was using Norway as an example because it has perfected the system I was trying to explain.
Yes you said that, and since you are using Norway as such a great example so often, I suggested that you move there.

I would love to live there, but current circumastances make that impossible. Open your eyes a bit. You are a classic example of every politically ignorant person out there.
examples include???? you call me ignorant without claiming why, you just generalize your opinion towards me when i have given my opinion with supporting factors on many political subjects on this forum. what aspect of my post was ignorant? was it the part where i said you have to work to get somewhere in life? was it where i said that welfare isnt a lifelong income, but a temporary relief? or was it my disagreement on your thoughts on the government paying for everyones education?

Do some research on your own, whome ever has taught you about this stuff in the past must have had some great bias you missed.
blah blah blah, whatever. You say in the first page that people take advantage of our social porgrams, but you also think our government should be more socialistic, how does that make sense? If the government pays for your education for as long as you want, whats keeping you from just going to school forever, failing classes, fucking up and not getting a job? You also complain that people like the Hilton sisters shouldnt inherit the fortune or business from their family because 'they dont deserve it.' Who deserves it then, you? Its their money, if they fuck it up, its their loss.

where do you get your money?..most any life, even simple lives with music & fun, costs money and
means interacting with the economy...you can only truely avoid it if you have access to plenty of money
that you presumably didn't have to earn (I say that because if you earned all your own money you'd probably
already be talking about the economy & politics)
