This is a very old picture of my wife and kids in DC. Note this was not coverted to BW correctly. It was done via the Paintshop pro's BW converter. I really need to work on this in Photoshop using RGB colors.

A very nice image here, not taken by myself. Decided to post this in this thread instead of making a new thread.

Explanation: Sometimes the sky itself is the best show in town. On January 26, people from Perth, Australia gathered on a local beach to watch a sky light up with delights near and far. Nearby, fireworks exploded as part of Australia Day celebrations. On the far right, lightning from a thunderstorm flashed in the distance. Near the image center, though, seen through clouds, was the most unusual sight of all: Comet McNaught. The photogenic comet was so bright that it even remained visible though the din of Earthly flashes. Comet McNaught continues to move out from the Sun and dim, but should remain visible in southern skies with binoculars through the end of this month. The above image is actually a three photograph panorama digitally processed to reduce red reflections from the exploding firework.

Vomits. But I hate eggs with a fucking passion. However, that looks almost EXACTLY like an Okonomiyaki pancake. . .except replace the rice with noddles. . .

Posted this over in the "Hey Were Not Gay But Lets Take Peeks Of Each Other In Various Poses" thread. . .but I like it (and the lens 50MM 1.8), and the B&W conversion I did on it. Im still trying to get B&W down (since my camera cant do it internally), and the B&W quick action on other programs - like PICASSA - sucks ass. Part of my part is out of focus - dunno if that was something on the lens or what.

Took this one at a super high iso. . .but I liked how it came out afterwards. Yea yea, tossed a Poster Edges filter on there, but its so faint. . .plus thats what she wanted it to look like - I like it. Woulda been better if I was able to grab some smoke off it.

Still testing.

OK this thread has inspired me (thanks!)
Here are some from our latest trip to Epcot in Disney ( we only live 45mintes away so you will be seeing a lot of images from the parks)

The last one I simply can't tweak, i don't know if it's my camera or what.
For full res images and camera settings/details click here[/url:68a64] just follow the link to download (in browser) the larger versions, normally 3008x2000
Any sugestions on my camara settings are welcomed.

Now, enter in some of these numbers to replicate real b&w film and filters (the first being red, second green, third blue);
Agfa 200X: 18,41,41
Agfapan 25: 25,39,36
Agfapan 100: 21,40,39
Agfapan 400: 20,41,39

Ilford Pan F: 33,36,31

Ilford XP2 Super: 21,42,37
Kodak Tmax 100: 24,37,39
Kodak Tmax 400: 27,36,37
Kodak Tri-X: 25,35,40
And some general ones, pretty much these will do;
Normal Contrast: 43,33,30
High Contrast: 40,34,60
After that go to image - adjustments - brightness/contrast and add a bit of contrast (or don't depending on what you feel is right for the shot). That's about it. If you use the desaturate option I will probably hunt you down and kick you in the throat. It's an easy way out but it leaves your shots completely flat, and devoid of all value and tone.

I use Nik Color Efex pro 2 and the B&W Conversion. It does a really nice job. Essentially its the same as the channel mixer only the interface is a little easier to use off the top.
I like the pics of NM Rudedog. Been there a couple of times and absolutely love that part of the country.

Adobe ships Photoshop Lightroom 1.0
Digital photography is big. Really big. Like the universe, it's getting bigger: more cameras, higher resolutions and ever-expanding collections of images. And that's where Adobe Photoshop Lightroom - which shipped this week for Windows and Mac OS X - comes in.
