i['ve got a question. i'm bringing back some of my overclocking but i'm kinda stuck between two options. right now i can run my cpu at 233mhz for 3.5 but the ram can only function at a 5:4 ratio so it's at 184 with 2-2-2-6 timings. the other option is just run a 1:1 ratio at 200mhz overall with the same ram timings. what is more beneficial?

Suck
ban: happy:
Not missing much with watercooling, marginally quieter than air cooling but a lot more expensive. I wouldn't even say the performance it offers is that much better than good aircooling either.
If pci express wasn't a necessity for newer graphics cards id still be happy with my p4 setup, don't really notice alot of gaming difference with this dual core setup. loney:

finallly installed my artic cooling silencer.
now ive never really been very aware of this but what am i look for temperature wise?
i mean what should the average idle temperature be, and what should it be whilst say playing a game? in degrees celsius please.
just i am overlocking the card and i want to know how far i can risk on how high it heats up.

x800's ran pretty hot with the stock cooler upto almost 90c. Artic cooler should bring that down to 60 odds at load id say.

Should be fine at that temp, my 2 x1900's hit 96c each under load. ed:
[quote:032c7]ATI's engineer Eric Demers, recently commented on this issue:
"At over 100C or so at the die temperature, thermal issues and possibilities of permanent damage start being important (I would strive to keep it below 100C). Certainly by 125C, permanent damage will occur. Below, that, life expectancy is shortened with higher temperature, but you should be fine for a few years.
We test our boards up to 55C ambient temperature, and at that temperature, all of them work fine. Most computers have much lower ambient temperature, and the associated die temperature should be fine, except if there is a fan failure."
