		Hello every1,

I'm working on a little proggy which scans the server's clients looking for some "neon" skins and then warns the admin and/or kicks the offending player. It has also some added features, like scanning private/public slots (it warns you if a public player is on a private slot or if a private player is using one of the public slots), protecting some skins (if you're on a clan people can download your skins to see you, but they can be kicked if they try to use them) and also it can send scheduled commands to the server (so that you can change the game type after some time, warn the players about those changes or server restarts or even quit the server, for example). I know some of this features will be included into the next autokick, but just I can wait biggrin:

Anyway, my main concern now is having the community feedback about the bright skins. I've already compiled a pretty large list of them, but I'm sure I'm missing a lot also. So, please, if you know of any neon or bright skins not listed here, please tell me the name (it would be great if you could post a pic or a download link, also!). And I would like to know your opinion about default winter skins being added to the list (when the server is not running Snowy Park). My current list is:

I know some of you wouldn't agree on this list, but the user would be able to add/remove his own skins. If anyone is interested on such a program, I think I will submit it to aa.com in a few days. Anyway, here's a screenshot of the beta:

1: I voted 'No!' because it's an original game, and you also got to think about the snow maps, custom maps also have snow and stuff ...

BTW : Sometimes I like to wear the snowy skin ! biggrin: Then you kill them, and they didn't even see you with a WHITE costume ! ed:

2: I got some skins (but don't use them) and I will note down the names, don't know them by hearth.

3: If they can script, they can give it the name they want, so I don't really think you could do something about it ... eek:

Should be something with the colors on the skin, like looking for the ammount of colors, and then don't allow to put them on ...

The best thing there is : DogMeat's program that de-activates the Force Models button !!! biggrin:

Why not look at it the oposite way around... and kick anyone with none standard skins?
BTW I think someone already has a server patch to force server selected skins

Yes, that was the other option, but I found it far more restrictive than the one I'm using right now.

Thanks for your feedback :-)

		Hi,
First off great work.......this will make alot of clan admins work easier whilst playing matchs.

Me thinks that alot of people have been looking for something like this.....

The question of using skins that were designed for a map on another map is a hard question to answer.....if a person uses this skin and forced model on during a match whilst playing a different map then in my view its a form of cheating, acceptable to some and not to others.........in my view you should not be able to use it.

custom skins ......well we all have used them at one time or another for different reasons...........me to see the effect on different maps that skins have........long range maps (the hunt/bridge) yes 100% advantage..........whereas on close fighting maps (V2) 25/30% advantage.

at the end of the day it is still cheating and a way has to be found to catch these players.

I think its great work..........keep it up.

ps where is dogmeats no force models program to download.

my 2 pence.......lol

		Nice one MAC,

We at Kronos1 as so dedicated to stop cheating we have appointed a "Anti Cheat Officer" his sole job for our clan is to reaserch cheats, try them, then find out how to stop them.

He has been doing this for oh humm about 3 months and is making great in roads into finding MP cheat websites and rooting out all the cheats. This is enabling us to find out wats of combatting them.

Mac also is incharge of our Server data logging and match rules alsong with our war arranger. If any of you guys out here want access to what we know then we are happy to share our knowledge if it helps irradicate these cheating arseholes from our game.

I think it's great some one with the skill to write something like this has taken up the gauntlet and started the fight. As we are so dedicated to stop cheating we are happy to beta test any software for these purposes. We have 32 player match quality servers for public use and Password private for our games.

Let me know if we as a squad or one of my Anti cheat officers can help.

Great work lets rid this game of cheats and not let it go the same way as Counter Strike.

First, DMz Dog Tags has an option to force server-side models (skin specified in the config). Rather restricting, but effective.
Second, I like this software, but having AutoKick running and that at the same time... Might make it hard for one to enjoy the game with the lag it would introduce (every so many seconds, y'know?). Not that I've tried it...
What if you got together with CK and tried to integrate the two apps?

Third, I would love to learn what you guys at Kronos have come up with. I have an admin on my server who's as dedicated as your cheat officer sounds. It kinda makes me feel bad because he's the one doing all the work in cleaning up the server (from cheaters, anyway). Having more info would greatly help all of my admins (including myself) in trimming out the fat.

Thanks for all of your efforts, all of you. The more admins and modders work together on these things, the closer our servers will be to peacefull killing. evil:

In fact, I was thinking of introducing a new option to control the skins on every client: the program has a list of the acceptable skins (usually, those supported by the server and the default skins), and no other skin is allowed.

I don't think it will cause lag running together with Autokick; the interval for scans is selected by the user, minimum being 1 minute (I have it set at 10 min., then if someone is catched using a conflictive skin I do a manual dumpuser to check if he has already changed the skin). So far, I haven't had any lag complain related to Delator, but it's running on the same computer the server is, so no bandwith involved. However, I think there could be some conflict if Autokick and Delator poll the server at the same time (I've always used Stattik banning method, so I'm not sure).

And yes, it would be great to have all those functionalities (even DogTag) in a single app. I would gladly send the source code of the final version to either CK or DogMeat if they're interested on it.

Regards

I think DogTag takes care of all the cheats that can be prevented (at least in some way). It even allows you to disable the client side Force Model switch (which seems far more effective than just detect some skins as Delator does). There a lot of cheats out there (like modified maps and many wallhacks) that only will be stopped with an appropiate use of sv_pure (i.e.: Spearhead).
Actually, my program is more a management tool that an anti-cheat one. However I try to be updated on new cheats and all that, just in case some of them can be prevented.
By the way, I send it yesterday to aa.com and tmt, I expect to see it in the next mods update.

Regards

I will wait a pair of days to see if either aa.com or TMT publish it (just I want to keep track of the downloads). If they don't, I'll publish a link here so that admins can download it :-)

Regards

You can post it to my site and link to it in the mean time. I have download stats and ratings... just head over to [url:bc675]http://www.allaboutnothing.net[/url:bc675] and then the downloads section (you may have to register) and then submit a download, or something.
If you have trouble, I can post it to the site myself and then link to it from here. Just e-mail me at liam@allaboutnothing.net with the file.

Well, I've released the first version of Delator. It's here:
http://cealweb.net/modules.php?name=Dow ... load&sid=5
(Filefront approved our ftp account just yesterday biggrin: )

Though the page is spanish, you just have to click the "Delator 1.0" link. Yesterday night I found a bug dealing with checking the player list, so I rewrote almost the whole thing. It worked fine for the rest of the night, however this is still a "very, very beta" version biggrin:

Check it if you wish, but read the help file before setting it up. If you find any other bug or have some ideas to improve it, feel free to PM me.

By the way, after patching the app it has no longer the ability to cast the offending player IP, but I would add it again in the next version (if any). And I've found it runs great together with DogTag; DT keeps the player from checking the 'force models' setting, but Delator tells you who was trying to use a cheating skin (on the default list I've removed all the polemic skins, I think).
