...i know your comment was meant as a joke but I think whoever sleeps with a gun under the pillow is asking for trouble. I heard of a story about a guy who kept a gun under his pillow and had an astma attack in the middle of the night. Since he kept his asthma pump on the night stand, he accidently grabbed the gun instead and shot himself in the face. Not a smart move if you ask me.

I keep one gun close enough when i'm sleeping (somewhere in the room)....the others are locked in the safe.

Mind me asking why you keep one out of the safe? Protection in case of an emergency?

Well, i'll answer both questions.

1. The reason i keep one out of the safe is "you never know". I'm the supreme being in my family so it's my responsibility to protect the family. When anything happens, i'm the one they turn to.

2. I live in suburbia U.S. in a relatively safe neighborhood. About the biggest thing that happened was my garbage pail was stolen at the curb (It was a landscaping type pail). The schools where i live are ranked as one of the best in the county and the crime rate is pretty low but just remember one thing.... people are people. You really can't trust anyone especially with your family's safety.
I'm not gonna live my life as one of those "It will never happen" people nor will i live my life in a paranoid state. To me, having a gun is like having a pair of sneakers....no big deal.
