Default I was thinking about the forum...directed mostly at mods - 01-11-2003, 06:05 PM

i was thinking about the forum and site crashing alot and i decided to look
at the member list
i was amazed
24,000 registered users and most of em don't even have posts
maybe some peeps can start deleteing some acounts that are just wasting space
i know some one is going to say something about this being my first post and believe me it isn't
i created a new username cuz i forgot the user and pass to the e-mail acount i registered with, "[513th] Kamil" was the name
any way, give some opinions

I wish it was that easy.
BadScript is the only one who can delete any members accounts.

I do agree that members with 0 posts that are over 6 months old should be deleted, with a warning ( announced in the forums or via news letter )

but I think the major problem is this site has gone threw some major changes over it's life. ( from one type of message board to another thus the data bases have been converted several times and BS has done a great job of keeping all the info ( with the exception of our join dates biggrin: )

I wish I had more of an answer for you guys but I only watch over the forums and make sure everyone is playing nicely swordfight:

I for one have gone threw and deleted all my send saved and received PMs. Every little bit counts.

This is true, but were lucky to still have our membership info. biggrin:
I have seen boards loose everything. mad:

In a way I'm sticking up for BS as I work for him ( I hoe you understand ) but I also know it's not easy running a board of this size and trying to extend the db every time you have to upgrade.

I would be willing to start over ( with our personal info saved ) and answer all the same questions again for the newer members if it would fix all the errors and downtime.

I already have all the faq's and other docs saved as I lost them with the last changeover.

Or perhaps a slight prune would work too. I would imagine that having over 100,000 posts in a single forum, would clog the board down too.

Off topic - I've been away from the community for a while, wanted to say hi Rudedog. I'll be getting back into MOH multiplayer in a week or so (once I can get off this crappy connection) and was wondering if the Allied Assault server was still up? Any other reccomended servers for MOH:AA or Spearhead now?

Sorry aa.com dedicated game server is no more. It might come back if ea can get their act together. but I don't have the time to baby sit a server even with all the great admin's I have / had.

I would recommend the aan server ( all the old guys with a different owner) Chicken boo runs the server and you will find all the old players their.

Check them out at http://www.allaboutnothing.com or the game IP = 66.230.149.83

I don't want to sound like a young whelp, Rudedog, but have you tried this 'deleting dodgy profiles' thing, or did you just assume BadScript would be to busy. Further to this, have any of the other mods tried to get temporary control similar to badScripts, so they can delete them?

my apologies if i sound ungrateful. I know how much of a pain-in-the-ass it must be to moderate stuff...i'm just adding my two cents biggrin:

BadScript owns the board/site. He has given admin rights to Ballistic Wookie.
So BS and BW are the only people who have access to that part of the board.
