Default Norton Antivirus help - 02-12-2003, 08:44 PM

ok.. this is what happened..... I formatted my comp the other day and I went to install NAV2003 on it..... but for some reason it wont allow me to enable my autoprotect and my email scanning has an error. even whan I go into norton options to enable autprotect, it tells me it will be enabled the next time I start my comp, but it never does. Does anyone know why this occurs? here is a screen shot so yo can get a better idea to what i am talking about.

if anyone can help me out, i would be very greatful

1) The email protection won't work because Auto-protect at this point, isn't an option, so deal with Auto-protect first.

2) Your best bet is to physically go into the Options, choose NAV (Norton Anti Virus) Then see if you can checkmark Enable Auto-Protect.

Just making sure, heh

well...I'll keep giving you some advice, but if worse comes to worse, you can always contact Symantec.

Have you tried Live Update?

Man, now this is bugging me! heh

Did you choose all three checkboxes?

"Run Auto Protect"

"Start auto-protect at startup"

"Show auto-protect in system tray"
