Keyboard and Officially-Licensed Controller Combo Provide Maximum Playability For PlayStation®2 Online Games

Fremont, CA - March 6, 2003 - Logitech (Nasdaq:LOGI) (Switzerland:LOGN) today announced that the Logitech® NetPlay™ Controller is scheduled to arrive on retail shelves in the U.S. and at http://www.logitech.com later this month for a suggested retail price of $69.95 USD. The NetPlay Controller will be on display at the Logitech booth (#1008) at the Game Developers Conference.

"Online gaming, especially on the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, often requires the functionality of both a gamepad, to control the actions of a character, and a keyboard, to type everything from game commands to messages directed at the opposition," said Fred Swan, Director of Marketing for Logitech's Audio and Interactive Entertainment Business Unit. "NetPlay Controller is a unique gaming device that will give online gamers the best of both worlds, allowing them to type and use the gamepad without having to juggle two different devices."

With its contoured design that comfortably fits a gamer's lap, the NetPlay Controller, available in Japan since May 2002, integrates a vibration-feedback controller and a detachable USB keyboard into one sleek unit.

The officially licensed controller can be toggled between digital and analog modes, while an eight-way pressure-sensitive D-pad, four trigger buttons and four analog pressure-sensitive buttons give gamers a familiar controller layout. Two motors provide vibration capabilities, and two proportional mini joysticks can be used for analog control in supporting games. The controller features a standard controller-port interface with an eight-foot cable.

The detachable USB keyboard comes with full-size keys and makes typing easy, even under the most challenging gaming scenarios. It can be attached to or removed from the gamepad portion by a slide lock and will rest flat when placed on a flat surface. The keyboard includes an eight-foot USB connector cable plus convenient cable clips.

At launch, the NetPlay Controller will be supported by EverQuest® Online Adventures™ from Sony Online Entertainment, with many more titles planned.[/quote:52070]
