Default Lil help with mov's - 10-26-2003, 01:10 PM

Heres the deal. For some unknown reason Media player will not play mov file types anymore. I can get the sound but not the video. When I try to open the file it says that the format needs a proper decoding device and then attempts to download a codec from microsoft but the download fails every time. I've tried downloading media player 9 and it's codecs and still nothing. I never had this problem until last month after my most recent format. Any ideas why it's doing this?

well if you need to be held obver until you fix ths issue try quicktime. Try searching for more codecs. I know i saw a WMedia player codec update in a recent microfsoft update.

Ever since WMP 6.4, you really can't play .QT files or .MOV files properly. I suggest you get Quicktime.

Search on google for Media Player Classic, it plays everything, including Real Media files.

Get the Nimo codec pack. It has probably the most used codecs on the net. gl

You can go install ffdshow(together with 3ivx) in order to playback MOV in WMP9.

Oh and yes it was Nimo...to the previous poster
