Default First Rap Song - 03-30-2004, 12:23 PM

What is the first rap song, and who did it? I am trying to find it, does it go something like "hip hop to the hippy hop and you don't stop", or something?

The first ever rap was performed in a small club in downtown Salt Lake City (a small place called "Bubbu's") by an artist called Daddy Blu. It consisted of 2 lines, they were;

"Welcome to my very first rap song,
it won't take long because I've got to go wash my dong."

At that point Daddy Blu left the stage.

Someone's bound to have it on tape.

Blondie's "Rapture" was one of the first singles to have a rap in it. Dunno if it's the first, but I'll look into it.

i'm pretty sure there were guys rapping in the late 70's, scratching old rock albums, and funk records... but rapture and Grand Master Flash were probably the first rap that was heard by the masses...
