Go to Voodoofiles.com and search for a registered version of wicked GL.
You may find your answer there.

hello, just found your topic... same problem for me, as i said on the question i asked here, but no responses....
i use a v5500, and tried the wicked drivers to fix the menu problem an improve some graphics... all i got was these strange effects with smoke (squares instead of smoke)... it solved the "flickering" textures problems also... but i can't play with theses crappy effects....

already did that... it's exactly the same as the demo, except you don't get the "demo" screen

Whoops that reminds me, I got an e-mail from a V5 users saying that the square smoke can be fixed by, get this, choosing Surround Sound instead of Stereo in the "Sound" option.

He swears that it works. I dunno, give it a try?

Btw if it does work, please post a response. If I gather enough positive experiences I may post this as a small news item. Thanks.

i'm afraid there's no very effective solution to solve the smoke effect with the wicked gl .... i looked from forums to forums about 3dfx or voodoo , all i found is this thread : http://pub43.ezboard.com/fx3dfxfrm1....cID=7703.topic
but it doesn't work for me : i still have these blooody squares.... arg ! i don't care for the intro movie or screens, the stupid thing is that the wicked dll seem to really improve the game... sob..

I have a VooDoo 5 and I can't even get MoH:AA to start. It just goes black. I download some 3rd party drivers from voodoofiles.com but it didn't fix the problem. I am going to try the WickedGL but I doubt that will fix it. I wonder if they are planning on releasing a patch with 3dfx compatability anytime soon.

first, the wicked dll, as i saw, make the game smoother and graphics more deeper.... i don't know how fps it improve... it may be "subjective", smoother is the best word i find ! (arg, my english !) the briefing screens are readable in both versions... its sharper with the wicked dll (was it the question ????)
second : i have already the game configured in "surround" and the squares are still there.
It remind me that i met these squares in another game 4 years ago with "rogue squadron" with my voodoo 2. i think they disappeared with new drivers...
i'd like to know if there is someone who use these dammed wicked dll and voodoo card with no problem....... !
