Im assuming hes talking about the nvidia drivers which were released for crysis, the links are a few pages back. They break the 64bit version of the game though.

I haven't played much, when i got it to start up it defaulted to very high settings. looked like a slideshow, so I put everything down to high settings and it was still pretty choppy. so i put everything down to medium and it runs smooth.

will have to tweak around but if i have to run this game on medium settings with a quad core and 8800 ultra then

Have to take into consideration though that the 8800 series is almost a year old, the ultras the fastest card available but at the same time its basically just a tweaked gtx which was released around november last year. Won't be long till theyre superceded either.

Odd, im assuming 2 gigs of ram for that. Im running all highs, except medium on shadows. Nvidia cards always seem to hate shadows and chug with em.

Run DX10 features in DX9 hah!

http://www.crysis-online.com/forum/i...?topic=11837.0

"So DX10 is Vista-only? Rubbish. The PC gaming crowd have found a way to enable many of the "DX10-exclusive" graphical touches in EA's Crysis for users running XP, and it doesn't even require a hack. It takes a quick edit of a config file (as in, cutting and pasting ONE LINE), and voilÃ*, you've got pretty much the same pretty sun and water effects as those suckers who forked out for Vista. You can cut and paste a single line of text, right?"

Files found in here:
C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis SP Demo\Game\Config\CVarGroups

Jus copy and paste some code, follow the link posted above. Apparently the hit on fps isn't large at all. I'm off to try it now, I'll take screenies if poss

yeah i know, but still. this is the hardware they were building the game on and is pretty much top of the line at the time the game is coming out and it struggles.

Farcry also hammered cards when it first came out, seems that crytek like making games that are gonna be used ase benchmarks in reviews. And theyve already stated that the game has even higher settings that require new hardware, and when thats available they'll release a patch enabling ultra settings or whatever.

Im just pissed its not making proper use of quad core. And as i said the game would have to be off getting duplicated now to meet the release date so it looks like this demo would represent final game performance. If it is a performance bug then that means more waiting around for patches. =/

Some of the physics in this game need a lot of work, whenever you launch a tac nuke for example the trees go untouched. Would be nice to see them get torn up by the force or at least ignite. Also any rocks that come from the explosion (of which there are a shitload) don't even cause splashes when crashing into the ocean.

Yea thats a little annoying. Is there a way of spawning or getting all weapons / vehicles in the demo?

not the sandbox.

Could be that since it is the demo some of the weapon shit was left out. I noticed a few weapons in the editor didnt have sounds. So they may be missing some pyshics stuff to.

Im still holding judgement to see if the aliens are better than the mutants as the non human portion. Since thats what really ruined far cry, and since this is pretty much a remake with new enemies.
