Arrow Official 'The Dark Knight' thread - 06-30-2008, 05:30 PM

Even though its not until around the 20th of July its been getting some great reviews, plus this:

Kevin Smith has seen The Dark Knight

http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...ogID=410282847

'Without giving anything away, this is an epic film (and trust me: based on the sheer size and scope of the visuals and storytelling, that's not an overstatement). It's the "Godfather II" of comic book films and three times more earnest than "Batman Begins" (and fuck, was that an earnest film). Easily the most adult comic book film ever made. Heath Ledger didn't so much give a performance as he disappeared completely into the role; I know I'm not the first to suggest this, but he'll likely get at least an Oscar nod (if not the win) for Best Supporting Actor. Fucking flick's nearly three hours long and only leaves you wanting more (in a great way). I can't imagine anyone being disappointed by it. Nolan and crew have created something close to a masterpiece.'

I'm a huge Batman nerd enough as it is but my excitement is at boiling point. I recently went out drinking as the Joker (heath ledger style rather than Jack) on a night out, had such a good time and plenty of strange looks....

Can't wait for this film, maybe I should dress up to see it like a super dork?

spoilerish

Aaron Eckhart would reprise his role from The Dark Knight - because working with Christian Bale is "phenomenal".

Eckhart, who plays District Attorney Harvey Dent in the sequel, confesses he "absolutely" would star in a third Batman film.

He tells WENN, "To work with Christian (Bale) all over again, and the cast, would be phenomenal. I think this movie is a movie of a lifetime."

SPOILERZ (what happened to the miniscule font btw?)

it'd be interesting to see how that works, since he "died" in the last one (or at least Harvey Dent did... maybe Two-Face survived... spooky)

Saw it again..feel like this movie doesn't have very good replay value. And all those calling it a masterpiece need to check your head.
