Umm. .ok, but this isn't a UN. In your case, Email BadScript or Wookie, end of story. It dosen't matter if you request diplomatically, or demand, basically, the problem is the people like old and badshitter; people whom want to refuse that there are rules set here to follow.

really, what old just did, and what you do on "EVERY SINGLE" topic, is the same. Adding two words to a post doesnt help a fucking thing. Funny thing is, you add a remark then lock it ... wtf is that ? You add nothing of worth to 60% of the threads you post to, besides, "Heh, me too" ? ? ? ?? ?? ??

I add a comment to the post about why I locked it, or just the fact that it's senceless. And out of all people, you are one to talk? With your little pic of the guy hitting the monitor in all your posts? Please. . .

It's just annoying. If you add a valued comment, then spam the post with smilies, it's just as bad. 2 or 3 is fine, but no need to go overboard, you know?

Let me go ahead and lay out my stance on this whole thing, so it's clear. Better than start an entire new thread:
Joe, I have no problem with you, other than the fact that most of the people of the forum have a problem with you. This sounds stupid, but allow me to explain. If you have an authority figure whom is not respected, regardless of the job they do, do you honestly think they could ever bring order to anything? It's not that you're a bad mod, Joe, it's more that you're a mod on the wrong forums. Many people apparently already had a pre-disposition to dislike you.
Why am I collaborating with them? Well, more than one reason, really. First off, I think this site needs serious help. Updates on the main page would be a huge step, but BadScript said he was going to set an account up for me to do that two months ago. Don't know if that will happen now. Anyway, Joe, it seems to me that every post now-a-days spirals into a "Nazi Joe" flame war that usually ends up locked or deleted. I've become friends with many of these people, and I will support them, but that is not my only reason. While they feel you shouldn't be a mod because they feel you do your job poorly, I feel you should step down for the sake of peace in the community. I think it's fairly obvious that what happened with strik0r truly set things ablaze in the community, and you are unfortunately trapped in a crossfire you will not easily escape.
So, to sum things up:
Joe, I don't think you're doing a bad job.
I don't think you're a bad person.
I do think you should step down for the sake of aa.com
Thank you.

OK, now let me sum up what I feel:
Sometime ago, within a year or so I'd say, the AA.COM forums have gone down the toilet. Mainly Offtopic, but the forums themselves have changed. This has been for many reasons; the MOH community getting angry from lack of support from EA for various issues, mods & admins leaving their positions from the forums, new people coming on and old people leaving, etc. Mainly, it's just everyones clash of additude towards particular issues.
I gladly took the modding position knowing what had to be done; make sure Offtopic dosen't collapse to a hell-hole of arguements and spam. Even at the time before I was mod, Rudedog PM'ed me saying "Hopefully you can become a mod soon, I need the backup in the Offtopic". I really thought I could help out cleaning the bad posts just as much as I try to help people in the GD section with problems with MOH.
If you noticed, alot of the other mods really don't bother with posting here much anymore. Alot of the older vets here, the guys from OTD, LLC, DOA, KaoS, they have all moved away from these forums. They don't like the community that is hosted here, along with the fact that no one is really around the clean up the issue. This is not only posts by rude members, but maintenance of the PHP database, too. I was offered to help sponsor forums from other websites, including PMOH.COM. But, I turned it down simply because AA.COM has been my home since JAN 2002.
Now, I am the only one really here who is locking posts and deleting stuff that dosen't belong. Wookie helps out occasionally when I email him, and so does Rude, and Spooge, but I right now am the only one who wants all the crap here to stop. We've all went over a revised rule list that we sent to BadScript about 3 times now, seeking approval, with no responce. Along with this, requests to maintain the forums, or elect new admins/mods, still no responce.
As badly as you want these forums cleaned Noctis, I want the same. But I'll tell you now; if I were to take my mod privs away, things would only get worse here, I promise you that. Which is why I will not take away the rights, unless they are taken from me. I'm sorry, but this is my home away from home on my freetime, and I refuse to let it die from people wanted to do as they please. There are places to post porn, constant curses, talking about cheats and hacks, but unfortuneatly, AA.COM isn't one of them.

And you're right, with no moderation, this place would go to high hell. So I can understand not stepping down. Until a new active mod was appointed, anyway.
BadScript is around. If it takes calling his home, that's what I'll do. But stuff needs to get fixed.

Yes, and I mentioned to him twice about making you the new MMS. He emailed me back about it saying he would get it done, but I guess nothing so far.
[quote:decb8]Well, I read your quick excerp concerning the fact that you might be leaving the position of web admin for AA.COM. I know you probably aren't sure yet, but if it should come a time when you need to do so, I want to let you know that I would gladly take the position. I mean everything; FTP info, payments to the provider, MMS, everything. Also, Noctis is waiting paintenly for you to set him up for the MMS section stuff! Just wanted to give you a heads up and let you know that someone was intrested. Take care man!

M/M/S, yeah.
I don't think I'd be the right person to mod here, though.
Although our personalities differ, when it comes to modding, I'm much the same.
The problem is that here, the rules have been overrun.

joe i have never had a problem with you, and never will
and to me this whole anti-joe thing is pretty funny, why?, because it seems like some people want there threads to be locked or want to be banned just bitch that joe did it and too put more fuel in the fire
i see it like in high school the cool guy makes fun of the little guy and the cool guys friends jump in only because the cool guy is doing it
and i say instead of putting up more threads about how joe should not be mod anymore, the anti-joe party should email or pm BS, or wookie, or even joe himself and try to talk to each other about the problem ya might have with him
im pretty sure joe wouldnt mind if you pm him and explain why you dont like him or what problems you have with the way he mod,s AA.com
because spaming and puting up stupid thread will only make things worst, not just for AA.com but for your self.... alot of guys here must be stressed to shit about joe [like a real haterd of him] and from what i have read about stress is that its not good for your mind or your body
rules are rules, if ya break them them you will have too suffer the consequences
