ok..i see your point. now you answer me this. if your in the situation you describe. and you stole food to feed your family. do you think that makes it ok to do. or do you feel like you did something wrong .your sitting at the table eating the stolen food.as you and your family are eating does it bother you at all the fact that you stole or do you just not give it a tought in the world. now think before you answer. this question is very deep. really think about the situation i described. could have a lot to do with what morals you have or dont have. ill be interested in your responce. thanks for the great post. i wish they all were a thought provoking as yours.

i wouldnt really feel bad, but i would understand its wrong-and would know the consequences. okay heres a question. We all know its wrong to lie. But what about the family housing Anne Frank who lied to the germans? he lied to protect people he cared about. was he wrong for lying?

given the situation i think any moral person would have done the same thing. i think your breaking the morals question down to its smallest form. i think your asking me is lying wrong. i think if everyone was absolutly honest with everyone all the time it would be a crazy world to live in. would you tell your boss exactly how you feel about him or hurt someones feelings for the sake of being honest. someone asks you..how do you like my car/ my dress / my hair / . do you tell them you think it sucks and hurt their feelings. of course you dont. actually give this some thought. this form gives everyone the ability to say whatever they want to whoever they want without having to deal with the repercussions. you see the state these forums are in. thats the best example i can think of at the moment.

yeah-you have me there. BTW: would you rather be the one getting robbed and beat up, or robbing and beating up others? Im saying sometimes you have to change your morals in order to survive. Even many national leaders are corrupt, but rich and wealthy.

IMMIGRANTS, NOT AMERICANS, MUST ADAPT. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Americans. However, the dust from the attacks had barely settled when the "politically correct" crowd began complaining about the possibility that our patriotism was offending others.
I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to America. Our population is almost entirely made up of descendants of immigrants. However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand. This idea of America being a multi cultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. As Americans, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle. This culture has been developed over centuries of struggles, trials, and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom.
We speak ENGLISH, not Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn the language!
"In God We Trust" is our national motto. This is not some Christian, right wing, political slogan. We adopted this motto because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.
If Stars and Stripes offend you, or you don't like Uncle Sam, then you should seriously consider a m! ove to another part of this planet. We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we really don't care how you did things where you came from. This is OUR COUNTRY, our land, and our lifestyle. Our First Amendment gives every! citizen the right to express his opinion and we will allow you every opportunity to do so. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about our flag, our pledge, our national motto, or our way of life, I highly encourage you to take advantage of one other great American freedom, THE RIGHT TO LEAVE.

given the choice ill take trying to defend myself from being beat up or robbed every time. its not a question of changing your morals to survive. its a question of teaching morals to the children so we can all survive in the furture. which brings this debate back to the beginning. point being..are morals important. i say they are for the "survival " as you put it of us all. imagine what a world this would be if everyone had morals and conducted themselves in a moral mannor. this thing got started by the question of morals. i think anyone who saw all the posts would agree that the more people who have morals and use them will make the intire world a better place for everyone to live. last thought..anyone who disagrees with that thought is part of the problem instead of the sulution. just my opinion.

You know if you switch America with Iraq in your statement puts alot of things come into perspective. You don't want to be changed by foreigners, then why do you go around the world trying to change others?
