Shit, I LOVED my NES.

I just downloaded a SNES emulator a week ago, and since then, I've clocked SMB3 (One of the greatest games, EVER.), Super Mario World, and SMB2......I'm about to have a go on the original SMB, the one I could never finish back in the day. (Level 8-2 always fucking killed me.)

....All the above games are on SNES's "Super Mario All-Stars."

I have SOOO many memories of playing NES and SNES games. Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, is still absolutely stunning, and beautiful for its time......Still VERY playable.
man...SMB on NES was hard once you got that far, especially since you coulnd't save

I didn't beat SMB on NES till I got it for my GBC a couple years back

SMB 3 is my fav though...way ebtter than the 3D marios imo.

Haha, when you finish SMB1, it makes you go back and do it again, except it replaces all the 'Goombas' with those Black little shell fuckers. I did it twice today, then got tired with it.

It was also the reason its creator resigned from Nintendo.

And what's everyones FIRST console experience?

Mine was waking up on Xmas morning and finding a kickass NES under the tree with Double Dragon 3, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Zelda, and of course Super Mario Brothers 3 (which shows how late we were to get the NES in the ghetto). After that. . .it was all over. We then swapped games constantly with everyone else in the neighborhood - Nightmare On Elmstreet (my god) was my favorite swap at the time. ed:

First console exoperience was indeed the Atari 2600. I got it Christmas morning WAY back when...not sure of the year, but it was early 80s.

It came with Breakout, Asteroids and Combat, but the folks bought Pacman for us too.

I played the shit outta those games.

Getting NES games to actually work was the greatest thing about the system. My friend determined you need to blow in it, then blow in the cartridge, then burp in it, lol

Oh god, how bout the movie The Wizard with Fred Savage? The final stage of the tournament was Super Mario Bros. 3 lol

I never had a whole lot of cash when I was young, and my parents never bought me one (some people have to work to earn their stuff biggrin: ) so I was pretty late on the scene too. got the SNES and played it for hours on end. Amazingly, that was my first console. Of course, I would go over to my friends' houses when I needed to and use theirs. lol, used them for there video games.
