Thanks Solidus, I see that the gts is better now I gotta go looking online and see if I can get a reasonable price. Otherwise it's an mx-400.

Okay I went to www.pricewatch.com to look for the price of the Geforce GTS Pro 64mb. There's one for 141 dollars and it comes with other stuff. Please go check it out for me to determine if all I need comes with the package. Thanks

Looks fine to me, but from the looks of it these are what I call "no-name" brand cards: they aren't made by anyone I "know" like asus or elsa.

Consequently, they could be better than the elsa and asus versions of the geforce2, just like they could be a bit slower. But one thing's for sure: they'll out-perform an mx any given sunday

I myself have considered buying noname brand geforce2's through the help of pricewatch.com, but the prices are in US funds: I wouldn't save much... if anything.

Besides, a friends dad with hook-ups is cooler hahaha

It all comes down to what type of pc you've got. If your computer is not one year old at the most, get the GTS, if it's some old relic get the MX.

BAH !

Before the Geforce3 becomes AFFORDABLE by mr. and ms. I-like-to-eat-at-mickeydees (aka everybody), your MX will be under alot of stress from the new generation of games..

Just go for a goddamn GTS or PRO. Costs about 200-250$ and it will last you a while (a long one, lol): by the time your GTS has trouble performing with the new games, the geforce3 will have become affordable and will cost you 75 to 100$ less when you sell your geforce2.. why not ??

If you are just a regular gamer, go for a good quality GeForce2 MX 32 or 64MB (Hercules, Guillemot, Asus or Creative Labs). There are three types (unfortunately):

MX
MX200
MX400

The MX and MX400 chips are indistinguishable from each other, but the MX200 is very noticeably slower. I worked in a computer store, so believe me when I say this, no name cards are usually using MX200 chips, but you usually won't find out until the video card BIOS is displayed at boot!

Personally I wouldn't waste your money going with a GTS, PRO or ULTRA GeForce2 model, because you will probably want to get a GeForce 3 in about a year anyway, and any model of Geforce2 (besides the MX200) will do just fine for quite a while (at least a year).
