because once they get married they will want adoption rights and shit and the whole idea of same sex civil unions destroys the concept of the family. Not that our society is doing much to preserve the family now, but legalizing same sex marriages will almost destroy all morality left in this country, because once gay marriages are legalized then poligimy is legalized, and its just going to be a downward spiral till there playing hard core porn on abc.

Give a good and logical reason why? How would you like it if you weren't allowed to be married? I'm not so sure if you would like that.... Anyways, isn't our society really sex driven already?

when will people come around to relize their is nothing wrong with this? dumb rednecks rolleyes:. some things in this world are so stupid. Say me & my friend..."jake" went to the dance together, everyone would laugh but no one would really care.. But if we went to the office & asked all hell would be let loose.

I have a libretarian streak in me and therefore I think that as long as no one's rights, life, or health are threatened by what two people do, the folks in the big white domed building don't have a say in it.
American are mature enough to make our own decisions and we don't need big brother telling us what is moral. (note that murder, rape, theft, etc. are still bad because they violate someone else's rights, consensual homosexuality does not)

Not really. At the present time, each state sets their own laws regarding gay marriages. Most states have banned them, and it's not likely they'll get changed...at least not here in Texas.
|
Thats true too, I guess the supreme court wont touch this for a good while, and until then, each state will take its own stance. Eventually, though, i think it will be accepted across the nation. If not, thats when the rainbow armys 31rst creampuff division invades texas and surrounds you in the alamo.[/quote:d0298]
it will never be accepted, because its not morale and will ruin families, i can garauntee if bush is reelected he will propose legislation to add a constitutional amendment banning same sex marriages.[/quote:d0298]
That would be funny, then the whole world can watch Bush get owned when the supreme court quashes his legislation. How does gay marriage ruin families?

I don't like gay marriages...but the more tolerant we are too it...the less it will be such a big deal.
If they just aren't allowed to show affection inpublic i'm fine.

Marriage is the basic building block of our entire society, and it's been this way for thousands of years. From it, new children are born, and the human race marches forward. Two guys/two girls obviously cannot have children...making it preposterous to call their union "marriage." However, I am not opposed to some type of civil union, but calling it "marriage" is unacceptable to me.
