Try this.....

Install it, then try to run it. When the error appears click "ok" and then go to Control panel>Add or Remove Programs. Select MSN Messenger, then "Change", then "Repair".

See if that helps.

did it, same thing happens. i redownloaded the install file to repair it but that didnt work. this is pissing me off.

Uninstall, delete the files in C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger and C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\MSN Messenger, then try to reinstall.

Have you had problems with any other programs recently?

ok ill try that. i havent had any trouble with anything else except all the games and steam, but steam just blows. i cant play online for some reason it wont connect.

It seems to be more of a connection problem then, check your firewalls and click "repair" on your local area connection thingy.

nah hp. im not gonna reinstall anything but msn messenger. once i can get a hold of my uncle he may be able to help, he writes programs and went to college for computers.

Have a look through the Microsoft support newsgroup for MSN Messenger, you might be able to find something there. (Or make a post there and ask for help)

the acout will get shut down if you dont check it for 30days. but you should be able to use MSNM still. get a whole new acount.
