Oh man the M16 is incredibly accurate when you know how to use it. Its Maximum effective range is 800 yards, but you can pin point hit something at about 550 to 600 yards. M16 is an awesome weapon when used right.

Same, it was orignally a pos but its been modified so much over the years its a good weapon if kept clean, but an ak-47 is probably more reliable than it and that things been around since the late 40's. eek:

As long as you clean the M16 you'll never have a problem with it. Thing with the AK is...it barley needs any maintanance...but its not accurate like the M16.

I was always taught max effective range of c7 was 300m and maximun effective range of a section was 500m.
I guess thats why they call it "effective range".

No, meters and yards are almost identical.
300m = 328y

Wonder how an ak-74 would stack up against an m16, i know the russian spetsnaz use that, all the original 47 needed was better accuracey over range, if the 74 has the reliability of the 47 and better accuracey over range it would be a really good weapon. Ive no idea though what ones meant to be better, ask the russians theyre gonna say ak ask americans they'll say m16. =/ Id prolly perfer a 74-su with the smaller stock, baically a carbine so easier to use in cqc.

Anyone know the name of that weird ak the russians were working on, supposed to fire 2 shots simaltaniously so it has better accuracey firing in bursts instead of each round getting gradually more spread out.
