Or we could go the sony route, have a console comprised mainly of "made in a weekend" titles then release a second console and boast that its backwards compatible...with all the shite games and the 2 good games from the first system. oOo:

Lets get real here now Gerv. . .I can count on my a couple of hands the number of "great" games Nintendos Gamecube has - and youd still be counting if you did the same with the PS2 -

As soon as Gamecube gets a MSG, or a RE (yea the first one they get is "loosely" connected to the series - good luck on that one), or a GTA, or a FF (anyone of them really) or a GT or a JAK or a wrestling game that does NOT suck. . .then perhaps we can talk about Nintendos "innovation".

Gamecube has already had metal gear and resident evil games, they may have been remakes but they were still on the system. The new RE game for the cube is getting a lot of positive talk from most of the gaming sites because of its graphics, targeting system and the new features it brings to the game.

A wwe game that doesn't suck? Try day of reckoning, last i checked it got rated higher than smackdown vs raw.

As for mario party games, nintendo produce them because they keep selling, if they didn't then i doubt they'd be producing them.

And sorry, but nintendo have innovated more in the console industry than anyone else, nintendo MADE the console industry and jumpstarted it from the brink of death to what it is today. Sony innovations? what would they consist of? A rumbling joypad? oops sorry nintendo had that first, analogue controls? oh shit sorry nintendo had that first, and for all their bragging about their controller, funny how its layout is practically identical to the snes controller with a few more buttons and handles added, the innovation is very clear with sony.

it comes down to which games you like better. In my opinion, Sony games are alot better than nintendo's. I don't like that fictional cartoon crap that nintendo constantly puts out on the market. And when I'm playing a game, the last thing i'm thinking about is how innovative the game is...I'm just thinking how much fun it is.

I coulda have sworn a little device called the Playstation brought the home console market from "kids fare" to "populat media device" - But that just might be me.

As for Day Or Reckoning. . .Gamerankings.com has it beating only JUST BRING IT (which was a shitty game).

N64 had the better "pure grapplers" - until Smackdown came out.

Its easy to define an adult game but not easy to define a "kiddy game" unless its soemthig along the lines of fluffy pink bunnies trying to teach kids the alphabet. I think nintendo proved long ago that a game doesn't have to have blood and swear words flying out of every orifice to make for a fun experience. Whereas companies like rockstar depend on this.


As for the console market, before intendo entered with the nex it was practically non existant, the nes basically started it all then the snes boosted it, had been no nes most likely there would be no playstatiom, or xbox or psp or whatever else because the market would not be there.
