Meh - I'll just reply now.

First of all, I'm happy with the way the Omaha map was originally created. That leaves those who like it that way happy. Should it be modded? Yes, I agree with you.

By allowing an individual server to limit the number of snipers is a good idea for those who dislike the number generally employed currently. You made an excellent point by describing the spawn locations and their inherent strategic advantages.

The kills, I sort of agree with, and sort of don't. I like to see my record. It's satisfying to be the top man on a server. However, it would be a top idea for players to be awarded points or kills based on completing an objective, thus giving the Allies a motive for not just sitting there. Perhaps several points should be given to the player who successfully destroys the target. My two cents: I'd like to see a player named as winner of the round, a la Unreal Tournament.

And I totally agree with you on the MG-42s behind the sandbags. That would be a great addition and I'm surprised that 2015 didn't include them.

But the problem is: If you take out snipers and rockets, the Axis have an almost impossible defense to break. It might be cool for a moment to run through that MG fire, but after a while it would lose its appeal. And if all the Allies get killed by the MGs on the beach, then the other Axis players, those who don't man the MGs, would have nothing to do.

So, do you see? The snipers and rockets are included for a reason. Limit their numbers? Sure, but don't eliminate them completely.

To be honest, the map levels out nicely. At least on the servers I've played. If you take out certain aspects, you begin to adversely effect gameplay. I'm sure 2015 went through many hours of testing to find the right fit.

Also remember that the game has been designed to appeal to everybody. If they made it specific to hardcore gamers it wouldn't sell as well. The SP sells the game initially, but it's the MP that keeps it on the shelf four years after its release. 2015 have developed a game that has broad appeal and playability. They could have catered to a more narrow group, but that's what the mod community is for. Those guys want people to tinker with their game; it sells them more copies.
