yea analogies are gone, but for a ghood reason: You could get them wrong for thinking TOO MUCH.

I just did a german exam as well, it was easy as fuckward too.

I always find english easier than math, but I read and write a lot.

If you have a big vocab, it should be. Of course, elementary math is just operations and an understanding of basic concepts and manipulation of, so there isn't any excuse... well, except stupidity and laziness.
